Nachibu lives in the rural, under-resourced, primitive Northern region of Ghana. She lives without running water or electricity. Daily life is a struggle. Her father Nachibu died due to a hernia on his way to the hospital which is three hours from their village. The roads are unpaved with large potholes, making travel extremely difficult. Her mother sells firewood to provide food for their family. Growing up has been very difficult for Nachibu, physically, but also emotionally. She wakes up very early in the morning to fetch water for her family and help her mother cook. It was because of Midian Education Support that she is able to attend school regularly and have the school supplies needed to do well. We continue to support and encourage her, and hope that she can begin to believe in herself and her potential. Although her mother has never been to school, she told us that she is so grateful for Nachibu's school sponsorship because, "Education will allow Nachibu to support her family one day."
